Anime-Planet has this thing for members that lets you click on all the anime you’ve watched and then it calculates how much of a worthless tool you are.

Using data from various databases, it tells you how much time it would take a person to watch through every anime you’ve ever seen in one sitting. No resting, no sleeping, no going to the bathroom, just watching anime.

This is my result:

I was curious as to what kids of today are growing up doing, and apparently watching Saturday morning cartoons isn’t one of them.

Sonic X is played at the ungodly hour of 7:30 AM while I notice CW is determined to destroy cartoons by continuing to air the Yu-Gi-Oh series in the form of Yu-Gi-Oh 5d’s. That’s exactly what American children need. A JAPANESE show about playing CARD GAMES on MOTORCYCLES.

Furthermore, they’ve got a show now called Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.

Like I’ve said/implied many times before on this blog, WHITE PEOPLE. LEAVE JAPAN THE FUCK ALONE.
Already they’ve made bullshit like Samurai Girl and Dragonball Evolution. They’re planning to make adaptations of Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Panic. But taking Kamen Rider away from Japan, putting in white people, and keeping the name? What. The. Fuck.

Kamen Rider is a 40 year old legacy. The precursor to even the Japanese Power Rangers (Himitsu Sentai Goranger). Why don’t they just make a show and not keep the name? It’s not like some 9 year old is going to go and look up the original series and watch it. Just make it a different show, if the idea is good, take it and then sever ties, don’t try to do an adaptation of it. Dragonball, I can understand why you’d want to keep the name, because people have heard of it, but no one in America has heard of Kamen Rider you douchebags, just call it something else.

See the difference between that rubbish and Power Rangers? This show takes itself WAY too seriously. Power Rangers was silly and ridiculous. This show looks like its trying to win an Emmy and doing a horrible job of it. Plus the main character’s Kamen Rider suit looks like one of the small-fry baddies from one of the Power Ranger seasons, don’t remember which one.

So here’s the deal. America’s children are growing up with a gap in their lives. Perhaps part of the reason kids don’t exercise and go outside anymore is because they don’t have Saturday Morning Cartoons. There’s no shows teaching how to deal with bullies, how to hit on girls (albeit in a very childish way), and most importantly, how to fight evil. I remember taking a curtain rod (as soon as Beastmaster or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World came on) and fighting with friends and invisible baddies, doing flips, rolls, running around, u know, what kids do. What do kids do now? Do they have imaginations? I guess they play videogames now, but there’s still that gap and it makes me sick.

It’s white people’s fault. Let me be more specific, Baby Boomin’ white people’s fault.

They collectively told the FCC to cut down on the number of cartoons being shown and increase the number of educational programs. Suddenly, the FCC is fining the studios making shows like Aah Real Monsters and the industry becomes unsustainable. It’s not profitable anymore, so there’s no incentive to create new shows and guess what, there’s not a huge market for creating educational programming cuz it’s boring. Fuck the stupid parents who don’t know how to parent. Their complaints to the FCC have ruined cartoons and in fact TV in general. They’re the ones making America fat.

So the lab I work at is currently preparing for an inspection by the Environmental Protection Agency, and from the idiocy I’ve experienced today, I’ve come to conclude that the EPA sends out people with a third grade level of education to inspect labs all over the country and fine them for arbitrary reasons.

Why do I think this?

A person came in to coach the lab members on how to minimize getting fined (apparently it’s inevitable that the EPA fines your lab for something every time) and one of the guidelines that she said should be followed is never to write the chemical formula on a label, instead writing out the name of it. Then she proceeded to say the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. She said that labels marked 70% EtOH needed to be replaced by labels marked, “ALCOHOL.”

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

Alcohol could be anything you dumbass, in fact, one of the goals of this inspection is to check for the safety of anyone who might be passing through the lab. One of the main points that this lady had to offer was, “if a janitor walks through here and spills something on his shirt, he should know what it is and how to deal with it.” Well fuck, lady, what if a janitor walks through here and sees a bottle labeled “ALCOHOL”?

Also, since chemical formulas are a big NO to the EPA, that means we have to change the labels on 5M NaCl solution. What do we fucking change that to, huh? “SALT?”

These people from the EPA must be expecting labs that are bright and shiny, with test tubes and beakers and solutions all labeled with, “Baking soda”, “Vinegar,” “Stomach Acid”, “Soap”, “Salt”, “Water”, and shit. You kidding me? We can’t put H2O on a spray bottle? It has to say WATER?

Who does the EPA even think they’re saving by running these inspections? The number of people who die in laboratory related incidents are statistically irrelevant. It’s SUCH a small number, and yet the EPA is inspecting EVERY lab for… what?

“We run inspections so that we know that every lab is safe.” Really, fuckers? What do you know about science? How do you make the call that something is unsafe? Most labs clean up and make everything look like it was labeled by an 8 year old for one day, when you bring in your inspection team, and then go back to whatever shit they were doing before you came, so don’t play like you make a difference in lab safety.

This is where Americans’ tax money is being flushed down the drain. Close that fucking cash tampon of an organization and let some real science get done.
