SRS Audio Sandbox

Filed under: Uncategorized — imabones @ 7:25 am

I found this program today called SRS Audio Sandbox. Now I don’t have much experience with these kinds of “virtual surround sound” programs, but I do know that I got this one and it makes my audio sound too much awesome.

It acts almost like an equalizer, not for individual programs but rather for my computer itself.

Furthermore, it increases bass response like none other, yet keeps it from reaching the point of “huge-douche-bag-with-crappy-sub-next-to-you-in-traffic.” I have yet to test it out, but I suppose that this is perfect for my cheap Sennheiser HD201’s which are known for being “classical music headphones,” or headphones that have really dainty and not bass driven sound.

Another one of the things it’s supposed to do is emulate 5.1 surround sound speakers. Maybe it’s because I’m not an audio crazed guy who pays the genital shrinking sum of 33,000 US dollars for speaker cables like the OPUS MM2:

33,000 DOLLARS?! RAGEEEE!!!!

33,000 DOLLARS?! RAGEEEE!!!!

but I’m not sure I hear the surround sound bit. I just hear that it’s making a huge improvement in my songs. Even the ones that have crap compression rates.
